Dr. Catarina Luís

Catarina has finished her PhD in 2018 at the University of Heidelberg. During her PhD and first Post Doc in Heidelberg and at the central institute of mental health in Mannheim, she worked on neurobilogical mechanisms of addiction. In particular, she investigated different brain activities which correlate to specific addiction behaviours, such as craving and relapse, in animal models of addiction. Currently Catarina is a Project and Communication Manager at the European Vaccine Initiative in Heidelberg, which focuses on coordinating the development of vaccines for diseases of poverty and emergent infectious diseases. Within DNO Catarina specialized from the very beginning on graphic design & visual communication. Her work has considerably shaped our visual identity, including our logo, design elements, overall templates, posters, promotional material, website and much more. Catarina is our creative mind, putting our feelings and words into shapes and colours.
